Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a highly motivated and dynamic team in a long standing and rapidly expanding IT support company based in Frome, Somerset. This position is initially maternity cover but could lead to a longer term job offer.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage the Accounts Receivable processes including supporting the Accounts Assistant with complex agreements, liaising with Solution Team, and escalating debts.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable including overseeing the invoicing matching, higher value invoice approval, and authorize invoices due.
  • Payroll
    • Pay Employee Expenses signed off by Manager
    • Collate information from department heads and run monthly payroll
  • Oversee Bank Reconciliation, including more complex transactions and follow up.
  • Check VAT is allocated appropriately & Submit Quarterly VAT Return
  • Management Accounts preparation including P&L review and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage Accounts Assistant
  • Investigate and resolve more complex inquiries.
  • Liaise with HR to ensure upkeep of company policies and staff contracts

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • AAT qualified or other accounts certification.
  • 2 years of accounting or finance related experience.
  • Solid understanding of a general ledger accounts (Sage or Xero preferred)
  • Proficient in general office applications and accounting software (particularly Word & Excel)
  • Excellent understanding of the accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations to assist staff.
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Organisational skills necessary and able to work to a deadline
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment.
  • Training provided for the ConnectWise University and the Xero Accounts system.

 

Candidates should be able to pick up balance sheet reconciliations from schedules provided and assist in the P&L preparations for month end management accounts, providing additional information when prompted by analysing accounting data, support from the Finance Director will be available. Candidates should have a drive to learn and achieve growth in the role

2nd / 3rd Line IT Support Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced 2nd Line (or someone looking to make the jump to 3rd Line Support) Engineer to join a highly motivated and dynamic team in a long standing and very rapidly expanding IT support & services company based in Frome, Somerset.

The role is an office based support role, working on our busy helpdesk assisting clients in day to day support.

Essential Experience & skills:

  • 5 years+ of Level 2 / Level 3 support ideally from an MSP / IT services background, or another area of business IT Support.
  • Windows Server 2003/8/12
  • Active Directory & Group Policy
  • VMWare (ideally with VMWare certification)
  • Storage Arrays (SAN) technology

Primarily working as part of their support team you will deal with customer faults that are escalated from their front line and 2nd line teams. You will also be involved in larger customer installations and infrastructure projects where required.

The role is office based but will require travel for on-site rectification and project work at their customers’ sites, as such this role requires a full clean UK driving licence.

This role is based in Frome. Somerset. A short commute from Bath, Trowbridge & Warminster.

The business works in a shift pattern, primarily between the hours of 8:45 am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday and we will need you to be able to work flexibly to support projects which are often scheduled over weekends or evenings. You may also need to be available for emergency response on evenings & weekends as may be required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our highly motivated and dynamic team, based in Frome, Somerset, as a customer facing Technical Account Manager / VITD (Virtual IT Director)

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with key client stakeholders on a daily basis, evaluating IT infrastructure, identifying risk, researching and presenting IT solutions to bring business benefits and growth.

You will essentially act as an account manager to a dedicated list of companies and perform as an outsourced IT Director, helping the heads of our client’s business, so a desire and excitement to learn and understand a vast array of business types and needs is key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established procedure and tool sets
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by their clients' upper management
  • Analyse the business requirements of all departments and overall businesses to determine their technology needs
  • Make efficient and cost-effective technological proposals for infrastructure and software platform adoption
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems
  • Act as the senior account contact for their business and take full accountability for their service to the client
  • Develop, present, and control client IT budget
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient solutions.

To qualify:

  • Proven experience as IT manager, 3rd line engineer or similar role (5+ years)
  • You will have proven problem solving and analytical skills
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms
  • Able to identify and interpret business needs and requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA would be a plus.

2nd Line IT Support Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 2nd Line IT Support / Network / Desktop Support Engineers to join a highly motivated and dynamic team in a long standing and rapidly expanding IT support company based in Frome, Somerset. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing IT support and troubleshooting via telephone and remote support software
  • Windows Server and network troubleshooting
  • As part of a close knit IT support team, you will be working with a number of clients in many sectors of the private business environment
  • Providing a high level of customer service to a wide range of users, including those with minimal IT knowledge
  • Liaison with 3rd party software vendors where required

Essential Skills / Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows
  • Experience of Microsoft Application Support (such as Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Server infrastructure (Windows Server based on Hyper V or VMware, or Small-Business Server and equivalents)
  • Working knowledge of networking protocols TCP-IP, DNS, SMTP, DHCP and VPN etc.

  • Anti-Virus solutions experience
  • Proactive and self-motivated

Desirable Skills / Experience:
