Proud of Our Roots as a Somerset Based Business Serving the UK

We're incredibly proud of where we come from.

For those who don't know us, Netitude is based on an industrial estate just outside the quaint town of Frome, in the heart of Somerset. And while our clients now stretch well beyond the county, everything we do still grows from that starting point.

Around 25 years ago, our Managing Director and founder, Adam Harling, decided that Frome would be where Netitude was planted as a seedling. From that single location, our roots have grown outward in every direction — and as we approach 25 years in business, we wanted to celebrate the place that started it all, and explain why our location matters so much to the businesses we support.

Where it all began: Frome, Somerset

Frome might be best known for its independent shops, cobbled streets and thriving creative scene — but it's also home to a growing community of ambitious businesses, and it's where Netitude has been rooted from the very beginning.

Being based here isn't an accident of history we've simply held onto. Somerset sits at the meeting point of the South West and the wider country, which makes it an ideal base for a managed IT provider that wants to be genuinely close to its clients — not a faceless helpdesk hundreds of miles away. For businesses across the county, that local presence means we can be on-site when it matters, not just on the end of a phone.

If you're a business looking for IT support in Frome or across Somerset, being supported by a provider that's genuinely local — that knows the area and can actually turn up — makes a real difference.

At the heart of the South West

One of the biggest advantages of our location is how well-connected it is.

From our Somerset HQ, we're within easy reach of Bath, Bristol and the rest of the South West — a region packed with exactly the kind of ambitious SMEs we love working with, from manufacturers to professional services firms. Our position on the Wiltshire border means we can support businesses across a wide area without ever losing the local, on-the-ground feel that sets us apart.

This matters more than it might sound. A lot of IT support is delivered remotely, and we resolve the vast majority of issues without setting foot in an office. But when something genuinely needs hands-on attention — a hardware failure, a new site setup, a security incident — there's real value in a provider who can actually be there. Our central South West location is what makes that possible across such a broad area.

Reaching further: Birmingham, London and beyond

Our roots may be in Somerset, but our reach extends much further.

Both Birmingham and London are little more than a couple of hours' drive from our HQ, putting two of the UK's biggest business hubs comfortably within range. That means businesses looking for IT support in Birmingham or IT support in London can benefit from the same proactive, personal service our South West clients rely on — backed by a provider that combines national reach with a genuinely local mindset.

It's the best of both worlds: the accountability and personal relationship you'd expect from a local provider, with the capability to support businesses across the country as they grow.

Why location still matters in a remote-first world

It's a fair question: in an age of cloud computing and remote support, does where your IT provider is based really matter?

We'd argue it does — for three reasons:

  1. On-site capability when it counts: Most issues are solved remotely, but the ones that aren't — hardware, new offices, incidents — are exactly the ones where being able to turn up quickly makes the biggest difference.

  2. Local knowledge and relationships: A provider embedded in a region understands its business landscape, its sectors, and often its people. That context makes for better, more relevant support.

  3. Accountability: A local provider is invested in the same community as you. That tends to mean relationships built on genuine accountability rather than a distant, transactional service.

Being proud of our roots isn't just sentiment. It's a genuine advantage we pass on to every client we work with — wherever they are.

Growing from strong roots

As we approach 25 years in business, we're proud that the seedling planted in Frome all those years ago has grown into a managed IT provider trusted by businesses across the South West, the Midlands and beyond.

Our roots keep us grounded — local, accountable, and genuinely invested in the businesses we support. And they're exactly what lets us grow outward, helping more organisations get more from their technology every year.
