Modernising IT across two manufacturers — The Alan Nuttall Partnership

The Alan Nuttall Partnership (TANP) is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and is made up of two businesses:

  • Flexeserve: A hot-holding manufacturing and food-to-go solutions
  • Nuttall: A shopfitting and interior fit-out company

As the group grew, its IT hadn't kept pace. TANP's leadership came to Netitude with a clear goal: make sure the technology side of the business could keep up with everything else.

The Challenge

Our first job was to find out what was actually holding things back. A full audit of both businesses identified a single root cause: ageing IT infrastructure. That was behind a string of day-to-day problems — system outages, rising costs, and lost productivity across both Flexeserve and Nuttall.

TANP didn't need a quick patch. They needed a plan that would scale with the group and meet the security and compliance demands of modern manufacturing.

Our Solution

We started where we start with every client: a technical alignment audit. Working across both Flexeserve and Nuttall, our Technical Alignment team looked at the areas that matter most to a growing manufacturer:

  • Backup and disaster recovery — so a failure doesn't stop production
  • Cyber security — protecting two growing businesses and their data
  • Regulatory compliance — meeting the standards their sector expects

That audit gave TANP a Net9 Alignment Score — a clear, honest baseline of where their IT stood. From there we built a roadmap of quick wins and priority fixes, structured around three things TANP cared about most: standardising their technology, strengthening cyber security, and improving the day-to-day experience for their people.

TANP is supported on an ongoing basis by a dedicated Virtual IT Director and Technical Alignment Manager. The decision maker for each business is then given the opportunity to meet with the Netitude team on a quarterly basis to ensure their IT roadmap keeps moving rather than sitting in a drawer.

Thanks to the Netitude team, Flexeserve achieved its Cyber Essentials Plus certification in 2024. We also helped to oversee a massive reduction in factory outages and downtime, and over time have helped to increase their Net9 alignment score - a bespoke measurement we use to compare a business's IT practices against modern best practice standards.

The Net9 Framework

Everything we delivered for TANP runs through Net9 — our framework for giving a business full visibility across nine key delivery areas:

  1. Business continuity protection
  2. Cloud platforms
  3. Scalable technology estate
  4. Licensing and legal
  5. Network infrastructure and wireless
  6. Connectivity and collaboration
  7. Threats and vulnerabilities
  8. Power, environment and ESG
  9. Standardised, efficient, scalable systems

Rather than fixing problems one at a time, Net9 lets us see the whole picture — and build a roadmap that keeps working as the business grows. To learn more about our Net9 process, click here.

The Result

Since partnering with Netitude, TANP has made real progress against its security and compliance goals across both Flexeserve and Nuttall. The work has stayed anchored to the three pillars TANP set out at the start — technology standardisation, cyber security, and a better experience for end users — turning a reactive IT setup into a managed, forward-looking one that can scale with the group.

TANP now has IT that grows with the business rather than holding it back — more secure, more resilient, and ready for what's next.
