How we improved business efficiency for Cooper and Tanner
Strategic roadmap
Cooper and Tanner needed a reliable IT partner that could support their needs and provide technology solutions to drive their business forward. Take a look at our case study video to find out how we continue to improve business efficiency for Cooper and Tanner.

"I only recommend people because they deliver. I like Netitude, they are a good bunch of people, they're easy to work with and they're efficient. If you were to ask me if I feel confident for the future, specifically with regards to IT, I'd say yes because I know I'm in good hands."

The brief
For over 100 years, Cooper and Tanner have been well recognised in the West Country as landed property professionals and auctioneers. They operate eleven offices in Somerset and Wiltshire, providing professional estate agency and surveying services to the residential, agricultural and commercial property sectors. Cooper and Tanner approached Netitude with a range of IT issues holding them back, costing them time and money. They needed reliable systems to allow their employees to focus on their jobs.
Cooper and Tanner's challenge was that their current technology was outdated and did not align with how their business was operating today. Not only was their server constantly failing, but their machines were slowing them down, making it impossible to provide an excellent service. Without the innovation of Netitude's Virtual IT Director's, Cooper and Tanner would still be facing major downtime.

"We first employed an IT company about 20 years ago. I think where the issues arose was that when something goes wrong, our staff were getting frustrated. They expected to be able to pick up the phone, get somebody in the IT support company to respond, and what we found was that we weren't looked after or advised in the way that I felt we needed to be. We have huge email traffic, as you can imagine. We had a situation previously where we could lose a server in office, and that meant virtually the whole firm could lose their email traffic. I had people who had to come in, put their computer on, go and make a cup of tea, to allow enough time for their PCs to warm up. That's ridiculous, it's like a steam engine. Netitude were able to go in, transform some people's working lives."

The solution
The process involved an audit of their entire IT estate, which took a deep dive into their current systems, processes, policies. Doing this allowed us to pinpoint the source of their issues and design a technology roadmap to suit their needs and help them reach their goals. This included a plan to update their Computers and roll out Microsoft Surfaces for their estate agents so that they could access important documents and emails outside of the office. Netitude also deployed Cloud storage and backup solution to tackle their failing server issue. As a result, their data and applications would be backed up more frequently and stored on a remote server. It also meant that files and data would be readily available in the event of a system failure, outage or natural disaster.

"One of the things that Netitude did was help us understand where we are. I had virtually no feedback negatively about Netitude. That tells me they were able to go out and deal with my staff and provide me with the support and guidance that I need to plan, and planning in IT is something I hadn't really been able to do up until that point."

The result
The audit and strategy ultimately gave Cooper and Tanner higher levels of uptime and productivity; staff no longer had to sit around waiting for things to work or deal with data loss. Cooper and Tanner also benefitted from training on how to use their new systems, leading to increased efficiency.

"When I think about why we chose Netitude, and this has been true throughout my relationship with them, is at no point have I ever felt, "Yeah, we've got your money. We're not going to bother." It's always been, "What can we do to help you next? Where does our relationship go?". Look, I only recommend people because they deliver, and I like Netitude. They're a good bunch of people. They're easy to work with. They're efficient. If you were to ask me if I feel confident for the future, specifically with regards to IT, yes, because I know I'm in good hands."

Next steps
Since this case study, Netitude has migrated Cooper and Tanner to Microsoft 365 to utilise the Cloud's flexibility and collaboration opportunities.
To ensure Cooper and Tanner's staff could fully leverage their new tools, Netitude conducted training on their new Microsoft 365 environment.
Cloud solutions opened up more than just space for their business data; by embracing the full suite of Microsoft 365 products, their staff were about to achieve higher productivity levels through flexible working. For example, their Estate Agents could access documents and business emails on the go, which they hadn't previously been able to. This opened the door to increased efficiency and tighter processes.
